Breathing a new Breathe in Baloch politics in Iran II
BPP; Success and Failures!
By Walid Garboni
I mention in my earlier article about the formation of BUF and the active role played by respectable Dr Doshoki in bringing most Baloch politicians together in the run up to this. I also added that many including myself were more in favour of the formation of a Political party than the front. Since Dr Doshoki was unenthusiastic towards formation of a political party and he and his friends formed BUF. Many other Baloch continued working to form an ideological political party and soon -in late 2003- Balochistan People’s Party was formed. Their slogan was liberal democracy in a federal Iran.
The activists forming BPP were mainly ex Balochistan-e-Raji Zrombesh members who were unhappy about BRZ’s slow progress and lack of interest of the leadership -who were of the opinion that the politics in Iran as a whole was slow therefore, they should work at the general pace- to motivate. They on the contrary; aptly, viewed Balochistan’s situation far worse since the degree of injustices on Baloch by the Iranian regime was much greater. Hence they left BRZ. Others included in BPP were veterans of leftist groups like Baam Star, Paykaar, Aksariyat and Aghliat etc. (1)
Nasser Boladai -a well known Baloch activist who played a very active role in revealing Iranian maltreatment of Baloch while in BRZ, wrote many commentaries on Balochistan politics and history and has a very good command on Balochi (language) literature- was chosen the spokesperson for BPP. As BPP’s spokesperson he attended many meetings, seminars and interviews in the world media highlighting Baloch’s woe before a world and Iranian audience, for which he earned applause from both the world and Baloch.
BPP at the same time is continuing to build a bridge between the oppressed nations of Iran; such as Arabs, Azaris, Kurds, Turks Turkman’s etc. and vigorously pursuing formation of a united front with them.
While meeting the required level of propaganda BPP does not seem to have succeeded accomplishing necessary organisational work and still has failed to produce a working body required for a political party of their statue which could have various rationales. This failure can eventually exhaust the front men and lead to another paper political party.

Many of the Baloch from these leftist groups seem to be indecisive and pretended that they are with BPP yet working on their own undeclared agenda. This is leading to a heap of misunderstanding amongst the ordinary supporters and sympathisers. End
