Breathing a new Breathe in Baloch politics in Iran III

The inward opportunities!

Mentioning the tentative people or those with hidden agendas who signal support for BPP yet are engaged in counter productive propaganda one can conclude that they are destined to cause serious harm to advancing Baloch politics and will only make Baloch enemies happy. Their hostility surfaced almost immediately after BUF and BPP were formed with different programs yet with same objective; to get Baloch out of misery.

It has been said repeatedly that Baloch’s agonising situation is beyond comparison with others in Iran and it is assiduously found there.  The burden of guilt, of course, goes towards the negligence from the governments; at same time, however, Baloch acuity -for various reasons- has been failing to meet the necessary standards in their struggle to counter the systematic maltreatment of Baloch Nation.

Had it been possible, the adversary would maintain heaving hurdles before Baloch’s political progression; but no, circumstances are in Baloch’s good deed. Therefore, Baloch must continue to mobilise concentrating on organisational issues as well as without disturbing friendly groups a sustained ideological mobilisation is necessary.  Cooperation with non Baloch political parties should have a limit.  Unlimited cooperation will require more time and efforts and Baloch’s time more valued on domestic level.

As Baloch continue their struggle, they must from time to time ask themselves question, like; Have we got our priorities right? Are we on the right truck? Have recognised our enemy/enemies? Have we understood the fact that it is not possible to convince all on same principles or ideology yet all can be drawn towards major Baloch issues?

Learning from political students and movements worldwide, we always find that the focal point of a struggle has remained the ruling elites or governments because it is them who hold the power and decide for you.  The predecessors can be criticised but not continuously targeted. In almost all countries opposition parties or groups jointly target the ruling force; be it the east or the west.  Cooperation between Baloch nationalists and Pakistan people’s party and Muslim league of Nawaz Sharif against Musharraf is a next door example.

Sadly, some Baloch politicians supporting BPP have kept themselves back from saying or writing a single word against the current regimes atrocities, instead they have aimed at BUF and ex-rulers of Iran.  We all know, BUF comprises some very honest and hardworking capable Baloch politicians and ex-rulers of Iran are (like Baloch) also targets of the ruling elite.  It is commonly said that ‘the enemy’s enemy is a friend’.  It certainly is difficult for some who have received persecution from the Shah regime to regard them as friends, but we should see matters in political perspective not personal.

Baloch leadership should instead see if there is a common floor on which we could work in cooperation. Baloch’s objectives should remain getting Baloch’s legitimate rights and main target must remain the regime.

Balochistan Peoples Party’s foundations rest on concrete grounds and they must adopt and follow an honest non-controversial policy and accommodate domestic opposition to have a practical political field to work on. This can eventually pave the way for mass support and subsequent participation from indecisive groups and individuals.  Now it depends whether they capitalise from the inward opportunities or play in the hand of dishonest opportunists or incapable and rash individuals!  END
