There is a graveyard in
Sindh, known as Chaukhandi Tombs, that has a
certain historical value. These tombs are
attributed to, as is mentioned on a board at the
graveyard’s entrance, Jokhio and Baloch tribes and
were built between the 15th and the 18th
centuries. The word Chaukandhi in the local
language means the four corners of any structure,
and in this case, of graves.
It is believed that almost all the tombs here are
made of a special kind of yellow stone which was
carried from a place called Jung Shahi. These
tombs have been attracting many people interested
in the history of the region for quite a long time
now.
